The Year of Us

When we started this journey in 2023, our goals were to follow 70° and head West!

As you've heard us say before, we spent most of 2023 traveling I-40 and I-95, finishing up family visits and commitments before actually beginning our journey.

In 2024, we started to venture out a little more, exploring new states and cities. Then came some bumps along the way—the oopsy in Kentucky and our week-long annual medical visits that extended to almost 3 months.

These are the unexpected "pleasures" of life.

You probably think I've lost my mind calling them pleasures, but even in distractions and disruptions, God will allow you to experience pleasure. It's all about your mindset, and we chose to focus on the things that brought us happiness and peace in our waiting.

Now, here we are in the second month of 2025, "The Year of Us." We have celebrated 40 years of marriage, an amazing Caribbean cruise, almost 2 years of full-time travel, some of the coldest temperatures in Florida (definitely not the 70 degrees I was promised!), and we are finally on our way WEST.

So far: Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas.

How much further? We don't know—remember, we "enjoy the journey on the way to our destination."

We crossed the Mississippi, which was Duane's goal for this journey, so we are fully committed now!

One more thing: I still don't like bridges, and we have crossed an awful lot of them, but I do enjoy the adventure, so let's continue on to see where we end up!
